Lake Travis ISD Schools
The Lake Travis area is the destination to be if you want to experience picturesque views and beautiful sunsets around Austin, TX. Lake Travis, located about 20 miles west of Austin, is home to pretty hill country landscapes and fun recreational activities making it an enviable place to live. This oasis has experienced soaring growth for the past few decades, which is why, in 1981, Dripping Springs ISD decided to split to form the Lake Travis Independent School District (Lake Travis ISD).
Today, Lake Travis ISD is a 6A district with a reputation for excellence in academic and extracurricular programs. Proven by a growing list of accomplishments, Lake Travis ISD excels in equipping the bright young minds of over 10,000 students by hiring dedicated highly-qualified staff and providing modern and well-equipped facilities making Lake Travis ISD “The Destination District” for thousands of families.
Lake Travis ISD currently has nine campuses distributed across 118.2 square miles that are bound by the shores of Lake Travis on the north, Travis and Hays county lines on the south, the Pedernales River to the west, and Lake Austin and Barton Creek to the east.
More recently, the highly rated Lake Travis ISD has experienced substantial growth in population and is projected to reach full capacity in a few of it’s campuses by 2020. The district is expected to call for a bond election in November 2017 having citizens to vote for the addition of new campuses.
